About Musical Directions

Musical Directions Port Melbourne opened in 2009 in response to the local community’s need in Port Melbourne and surrounding areas – access to quality music lessons and a range of musical opportunities in which to learn and perform with others.

Established by Joy Atwell (B. Ed., Dip T., Grad Dip Music Ed., VMTA, VIT), with almost forty years experience Joy has developed and delivered a range of educational music programs within private and public schools.

All Musial Directions teachers are University Graduates and continuing the professional development of teachers in the principles of teaching and learning is Joy’s passion. Together the Musical Directions teachers strive for excellence in learning while focusing on the individual child and their learning.

At Musical Directions we know that learning music has many benefits. Music we believe is a Universal language. Music is:

Opening Hours over the summer holidays

The studio at Port Melbourne will reopen Monday 30 January 2012 and individual lessons commence this week (otherwise by arrangement).

Group Classes – Music Club (school aged primary and secondary) – Monday nights 6.45pm – 7.45pm, Choir (Thursday nights 7.00pm to 8.00pm plus socialising time) and Early Learning Music (by arrangement) will commence week commencing 5 February 2012.
